Prop H Potluck Friday!

Voltage Thanks to all of you who supported the San Francisco Clean Energy Act (Proposition H)!

We appreciate everything you did for the “Yes on H” campaign.   Although we didn’t win enough votes to pass Prop H, we made a valiant effort.  In a compressed time-frame we waged a campaign that challenged an entrenched utility giant, knowing full well the odds against us, but we also knew the importance of pushing for clean energy at this critical time. Soon after the introduction of this visionary proposal asking San Francisco to reach for a 100% clean energy future, Al Gore issued his challenge to America calling for 100% clean energy at an even more rapid pace.  That is sending waves around the world.  Meeting all of you and experiencing the enthusiasm for affordable, renewable, clean energy and green jobs for San Francisco gives us hope for what we can still accomplish.

Let’s come together and celebrate our efforts!
We invite you to join us for a
Clean Energy Campaign Potluck

WHERE: Global Exchange, 2017 Mission Street, 2nd Floor, (near 16th St & Mission St BART)
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 21st, 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Afterwards we can walk over to Elixir for drinks.
If you think you’ll make it, please RSVP to geoff.cleanenergy@gmail.com with what you plan to bring. Or just show up. Just bringing yourself is most important. We want to see you.

Prop H Supporters Show PG&E How It’s Done!

PROP H WIND TURBINES INSTALLED ON PG&E HQ
More Pics HERE

PG&E’s record-breaking $9.9 million opposition to Prop H said to be obstructing San Francisco’s chance for renewable and cheaper energy

SAN FRANCISCO — In front of PG&E’s downtown headquarters at 77 Beale St. at Market, three twelve-foot wind turbines were constructed by citizens eager to see Prop H pass and begin a green job and affordable green energy future. Citizens wearing green hard hats and worker overalls promptly descended on PG&E’s headquarters and constructed the wind turbine art installations. PG&E provides the City with only 2% wind energy, and 1% solar, for a total of 14% renewable energy, while Prop H would develop thousands of green jobs and move San Francisco’s energy provider to 51% renewable and clean energy in a decade, 75% by 2030 and will maximize all available and affordable renewable energy possible by 2040.

Cake and Clean Energy

Here is a great first-hand report from the Prop H pre-party and Concert w/ Cake!:

Here is the deal, I got an email from the Independent on Divisadero telling me that Cake was going to play there for a special benefit blah blah blah. I wanted to see Cake at a small venue and I was excited. By the time I figured out that my wife and I could both go, all that was left were the expensive VIP tickets and I really wanted to go so I bought them. The VIP tickets allowed us to go to a meet and greet and I sort of hate those things because the band is supposed to be nice to you because you paid more….. blah, blah blah so we figured we would just go to the show.

OK, Ok so get to the point. Well I got an email a few days before the show and it said come for food and drink etc. and the address was intiguing so we decided to go. The house was a grand old victorian with an amazing history all it’s own. the vibe was mellow and friendly and I walked past John McCrea (lead singer of Cake) on my way in trying to act non chalant…… I was so damn successful at the non chalant thing that i did not speak to John all night. I did get in 2 different conversation circles with him though and he had a bit of a sore throat so he was sipping hot tea.

“Yes on H” - O”H” Yes We Can

Why does PG&E continue to be a corporation of “can’t”? In a time when America needs real solution to stop our climate crisis, create a green economy, and reduce our carbon footprint, PG&E wills our email inboxes and mailboxes with “can’t”. It stops Nov 4 with ”Yes on H”. Oh Yes We Can! PG&E will miss it’s committed deadline for renewable energy production in CA. Does this sound like a company that is committed to the health of our communities? On November 4 San Francisco can show PG&E what we are … Continue Reading
