Prop H Potluck Friday!
Voltage Thanks to all of you who supported the San Francisco Clean Energy Act (Proposition H)!
We appreciate everything you did for the “Yes on H” campaign. Although we didn’t win enough votes to pass Prop H, we made a valiant effort. In a compressed time-frame we waged a campaign that challenged an entrenched utility giant, knowing full well the odds against us, but we also knew the importance of pushing for clean energy at this critical time. Soon after the introduction of this visionary proposal asking San Francisco to reach for a 100% clean energy future, Al Gore issued his challenge to America calling for 100% clean energy at an even more rapid pace. That is sending waves around the world. Meeting all of you and experiencing the enthusiasm for affordable, renewable, clean energy and green jobs for San Francisco gives us hope for what we can still accomplish.
Let’s come together and celebrate our efforts!
We invite you to join us for a
Clean Energy Campaign Potluck
WHERE: Global Exchange, 2017 Mission Street, 2nd Floor, (near 16th St & Mission St BART)
WHEN: Friday, Nov. 21st, 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Afterwards we can walk over to Elixir for drinks.
If you think you’ll make it, please RSVP to geoff.cleanenergy@gmail.com with what you plan to bring. Or just show up. Just bringing yourself is most important. We want to see you.
This will be a good opportunity to informally share our thoughts on the campaign and reflect on lessons learned as we look toward the future. Many wonderful organizations and dedicated individuals who came together and gave so much for this campaign deserve thanks. How we can fine-tune our approach and continue to build our strength, resources, alliances and power to successfully bring 100% clean energy to San Francisco is part of the dialogue that we can continue on Wednesday. We can schedule a more formal debrief and future planning meeting for another time soon, but on Wednesday let’s be sure to RECOGNIZE THE EFFORTS THAT WENT INTO THIS CAMPAIGN AND HAVE SOME FUN!
It was a tough campaign in which we bravely faced the over $10 million record-shattering amount spent against us while we made steps forward in educating San Franciscans about PG&E’s pitiful performance on renewable energy and the critical need for more action to be taken for clean energy.
You made a significant difference and together we breathed fresh air into the local clean energy movement.
Hope to see you on the 19th!
In solidarity
